Where Is Rainbow Mountain?

How to Get There and the Hike
Departure between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. from Cusco by tourist bus, with a typical Andean breakfast along the way.
From the starting point of the hike (Phulawasipata), it takes 1.5 to 2 hours (one way), with moderate-to-high difficulty due to the altitude. Local horses are also available for part of the route.

The Perfect Photo Moment
The main viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the entire multicolored mountain, with the Ausangate glacier in the background. If you've got the energy, you can climb up to the second viewpoint (about 15 minutes more) for the best aerial-style shot of the mountain.
