The Rainbow Mountain Tour begins very early, at around 4:00 a.m., with a hotel pickup in Cusco to start a unique experience filled with adventure and impressive landscapes. The journey takes approximately 2 hours to the village of Cusipata, where breakfast is enjoyed to prepare for the hike. You then continue to Llacto, the starting point of the trek, where the guide provides the necessary instructions and trekking poles are distributed.
During the hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), spectacular Andean landscapes are appreciated, along with llamas, alpacas and local communities. The imposing Ausangate glacier, considered one of the most important in the region, can also be observed. The hike takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach the highest point at 5,020 m.a.s.l., from where you can contemplate the incredible natural color formation that makes this destination one of the most visited in Peru.
After enjoying the scenery, taking photographs and resting, the descent begins towards Llacto before returning to Cusipata, where a buffet lunch is served. Finally, the tour concludes with the return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m.
